NC’s dalit lawmaker thrashed on the bus


N24 Correspondent, RAJBIRAJ: A group of gangsters attacked Nepali Congress’s dalit lawmaker Laxmi Pariyar in Udaypur on Sunday morning

Pariyar was beaten down by a group of ten youths, led by Rajan Magar, by stopping the bus bound to Gaighat in Salghari Chowk of Triyuga municipality.

She was traveling in the bus with her brother Sandeep Tailor and was beaten down when she tried to save her brother from the youths, who were to settle down an old row with Sandip.

Pariyar sustained injuries to her face and leg informed regional police headquarters. Sandeep is an accountant at the Cottage Industries Office and the youths had attacked him following a debate between them earlier.

Lawmaker Pariyar was traveling in the bus on her way to Ghaighat to attend the regional assembly of NC Udayapur Area No. 1.

Necessary legal action against the group will be taken as they have already been identified, said Police Inspector, Khagendra Bahadur Khadka of Udayapur.
