By N24 Staff Writer, KATHMANDU:- A faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by its two party chairs Madhav Kumar Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has launched nationwide protests in a show of power against the government’s decision to dissolve the House of Representatives.
Addressing a mass meeting in Kathmandu on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, NCP chair Nepal said Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli can rejoin the NCP, if he apologizes for dissolving the House.
“PM Oli still has a chance to correct himself. He can join NCP again after regretting and correcting his blunder and asking for an apology thereby,” Nepal said.
NCP’s second chair Prachanda said despite PM Oli’s step on Sunday, December 20, 2020, many NCP leaders are trying to make peace among all.
“Many of our comrades are literally trying to extract oil from the sand of Baluwatar. Let’s see how much successful they become,” Prachanda said.
Yet another NCP leader Jhalanath Khanal said the government has failed to deliver as per its promise in the last election.
“Where is the ship? Where are the gas pipes supplying cooking gas to households? The government has failed in fulfilling its promises,” Khanal said.
NCP organized protests in all district headquarters of six provinces, while in Bagmati Province, the protests were organized in Kathmandu valley only.
The protest rallies began from various parts of the valley before converging into a mass meeting at Exhibition Road, Kathmandu.
