NCP orders bodies set up in name of party leaders to halt activities

KATHMANDU:- The ruling Nepal communist Party (NCP) has issued orders to the institutions and organisations set up in the name of the party’s leaders not to carry out any activities.

The NCP ordered halt in the activities of the foundations, academies, study centres or organisations named after the party’s leaders, both living and who have passed away, by issuing the Intra-party Directives-5.

As per the directives, these organisations and institutions are barred from constituting any branch or conducting activities in the State, District and Local levels.

This directive from the party comes in the context of complaints that most of these organisations and institutions named after the party’s leaders started involving in groupism and factionalism within the party, it is stated.

However, the prohibition does not apply at the central level. Organisations have been set up in the name of party leaders, the late Pushpa Lal Shrestha, the late Man Mohan Adhikari, the late Tulsilal Amatya, the late Madan Bhandari, the late Jeevraj Ashrit, the late Nara Bahadur Karmacharya, the late Nirmal Lama, the late Suresh Ale, the late Krishna Sen Ichhuk, the late Motidevi, the late Sahana Pradhan and Jhalanath Khanal, among others.

Among these organisations, some have opened their branches in the districts while some are confined to the centre only.
