NC President Deuba warns of obstructing Parliament if attackers of party cadres walk scot-free

KATHMANDU: President of major opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday warned of obstructing Parliament if those behind the recent attack on NC, Banke President and cadres were not brought to book.
Leader Deuba forewarned, “Our party will not keep mum until the government books the offenders.”
He also condemned the attack which he said took place in Banke when a ‘peaceful protest’ was being staged by NC leaders and cadres.
The former Prime Minister also accused the police department for failing to provide security to the general people. “It is a matter of shame as NC leaders and cadres have been beaten up while voicing against corruption,” he ranted.
Deuba was addressing the second phase of nation-wide awakening campaign launched by the NC in Banke.
On the occasion, other party leaders like Kishore Singh Rathaur and Bidya Prasad Khanal among others also condemned the attack.
