NAWALPARASI: At a time when President and Vice President of Nepali Congress (NC) have voiced to form electoral alliance with democratic forces to ensure promulgation of democratic constitution through the elections of the constituent assembly, senior leader of the party Sher Bahadur Deuba has ruled out ny possibility of forging an election alliance with other parties to secure victory of top leaders in the Constituent Assembly.
He said the NC is not in favor of any alliance with the major parties that are taking part in the elections. Addressing the cadre’s meeting in Kasasoti on Saturday, Deuba said, “Alliance cannot be forged as there are more aspirants within NC.”
Saying the CA could complete the task of constitution-drafting as the NC failed in the elections last time, he told the party cadres to work to secure the party’s victory in the upcoming elections. Deuba also made it clear that NC would incorporate clear model of federalism in election manifesto.
Sher Bahadur Deuba has claimed that the new constitution would be written only if the Nepali Congress gets a clear majority and urged all party workers to work for securing majority in the upcoming polls.
NC is holding dialogue with CPN-UML for forming electoral alliance. Both the parties are mulling to form electoral alliance for the whole country and if not possible for top 10 leaders of both the parties.
