NC Central leader Pahadi dies

KATHMANDU: Central Working Committee member of Nepali Congress (NC) leader and Gopal Raj Pahadi passed away on Monday morning.

Pahadi, who had been afflicted from multiple health problems including diabetes, heart attack and kidney failure , breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College Hospital at Sinamangal at around 7 am this morning.

He was undergoing treatment at KMC hospital since a month. Born in Sankhuwasabha, he was involved in the Nepali Congress´ activities since five decades.On July 21, the government had provided Rs 500,000 assistance for Pahadi’s treatment. Pahadi was unmarried.

According to NC, Pahadi’s body will be kept at NC Central Party office, Sanepa from 10 am to 1 pm for paying last tribute. His last rites are scheduled to be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat later in the afternoon today. Meanwhile, a CWC meeting has been called at 9: 30 am following the demise of Leader Pahadi.
