KATHMANDU:- Nine actresses of previous and later generations have been honored with ‘National Navdurga Samman’. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal felicitated Chaityadevi Singh, Laxmi Giri, Mausami Malla and Sharmila Malla at a function organized by Regina Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. of Regina Upreti and Shaheed Films Pvt. Ltd. of Bimala KC at the meeting hall of Film Development Board on Thursday.
Similarly, actresses of the last generation Keki Adhikari, Suraksha Pant, Nita Dhungana, Empress Rajyalakshmi Shah and Upasana Singh Thakuri have also been honored. He has been honored for his contribution to the Nepali film industry through his artistry. The ‘National Navdurga Samman’, which was organized for the first time in 2076 BS, was held last year due to Corona.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bhusal said that the participation of women has increased in all sectors of the state due to inclusion and pledged to do his best to solve the problems seen in the Nepali film industry due to the Corona epidemic. Other actors danced to the songs of one of the films starring the nine actresses who will be honored with the ‘Nava Durga Samman’.
