By Dikshya Tiwari, KATHMANDU: Glamorous Actress Swastima Khadka is celebrating her 25th birthday today.
She started her journey on Kollywood from the movie “Hostel Returns” that was released in 2015. Khadka was born in 2052-03-20 B.S. She received many wishes through different social Media by her fans and well-wishers.
She is married to one of the most versatile actor/director Nischal Basnet who changed the whole scenario of the Nepal Film Industry. Basnet wished her through his Facebook post. Even though she began her career from “Hostel Returns” she gained popularity from the “Dui Rupaiya” movie’s song “Kutu Ma kutu”. Likewise “Chakka Panja 3” set her career as a known Nepali Actress.
       
Swastima has been in this industry for 5 years and has done half a dozen movies. She played a lead role in some movies like ’Love love love’, ‘Jay bhole’, ’Nai Nabhannu La 5’, Ghamanda Shere’, ‘Hajar Juni Samma’ etc. but ‘Bulbul’ was her life-changing movie.
She didn’t only receive National award but International too for her outstanding performance on ‘Bulbul’.She played the role of a moped driver who will get married and have to face a harass reality of Nepali lower Society.
Most women lose their careers in the film industry after marriage but it was contrary to Swastima. After marrying Director Nischal Basnet in 2016, she got more offers for movies, music videos, and advertisements.
In a short period of time, she acquired envious ‘Name and Fame’.Her earning is around 5-6 lakhs per movie and there’s a gossip that she got a proposal for acting in Hollywood movie. Similarly, her next movie ‘Chapali Height 3’ is on queue to be released.
