Namita, Rejina to be conferred on Science Award


KATHMANDU: Nepal Astronomical Society has decided to provide Women in Science Award to Dr Namita Shrestha on the category of profession and to Rejina Jha under the category of studentship. Information to this was shared by Society chair Suresh Bhattarai.
The awards would be provided on the occasion of Society’s establishment day on Bhadra 9. The award on the category of profession carries a purse of Rs 25,000 and while Rs 15,000 on the category of studentship.
Dr Namita is currently teaching at Wisconsin University, USA, and has published dozens of research articles in science and technology and is soon receiving patent rights in some areas.
Similarly, Jha is the 4th year Bachelor student of Physics at Tribhuvan University.
