My resignation unlikely until consensus on holistic manner: PM Dr Bhattarai

KATHMANDU:
Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has refuted the news claim that he was the obstruction for the national consensus.
Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai organized a press conference at his own official residence to claim that that he was not a hurdle in the formation of a national unity government.
However, he argued that his resignation is not likely until a political consensus was forged in a holistic manner.

“Only my resignation is not a way-out for the current crisis. Consensus should be in all issues concerned,” he said urging opposition parties to join the current government to give it a shape of national unity and pass necessary legal provision needed for fresh elections and thereby form an NC-led government.

Noting that Party Chairperson Prachanda and his perceptions were same regarding the latest political scenario, the Prime Minister said, “Publicity made by describing disputes within the party and my refusal to quit from the post is completely wrong. There is no dispute in our party.”

Meanwhile, the meeting of the Federal Democratic Republic Alliance (FDRA), an alliance of the ruling parties, today, held earlier today decided to constitute a national consensus government under the leadership of current prime minister itself, and in case that was not possible, to give an alternative from within the Alliance.
