Maoist leadership and dissidents organize separate protest programs

KATHMANDU: Maoist establishment and dissident faction organized separate rallies and programs across the nation on Friday.  The party leadership organized a mega program at Basantpur in the capital to mark the ‘People’s Revolution Day’.

On the other hand, the Baidya faction organized a mini protest event in Ratnapark to protest against the party leadership.

Party leader Prachanda remained absent in both event citing health reasons.

While the leadership programs were centered on the theme of peace and constitution. The programs of the dissident faction were centered on the theme of livelihood, nationality, ethnic states and people’s constitution.
