Lightening kills two in Morang


MORANG: Two people died when lightning struck them in Morang today. The deceased have been identified as Bikram Gurung, 22, of Budhanagar- 2 and Shivaji Yadav, 55, of Bayarban in Biratngar-18, said the District Police Office Morang.

Gurung  became the victim as he was on way to his duty at the local MM Plastic Factory at 8:30 AM. Likewise, Yadav was struck by lightning while he was busy in the paddy field.  Two oxen were also killed in the incident, said the police.
Meanwhile, in Khotang, a man from the Dalit community committed suicide by consuming poison on Tuesday evening. The deceased is Bishnu Pariyar,37, of Haunchur-5.

Pariyar is believed to have committed suicide after he failed to pay his debt in time.
According to the family source, he was in distress as he could not clear the debt he had taken from one Govinda Acharya of Chisapani.
He had taken Rs. 24,492 from Acharya and as per the commitment, he had to pay the debt on July 9, said Pariyar’s spouse.

Pariyar was running a tailoring business at Bhanuchowk in the district headquarters Diktel, it is learnt. RSS
