KATHMANDU: A medical delegation from Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov), a leading Israeli hospital in the field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, is visiting Nepal from September 9 to 16. The team of 5 renowned Israeli senior doctors will be visiting Dhulikhel Hospital, Bahunepati-outreach center of Dhulikhel Hospital and Siddhi Memorial Hospital.
The major purpose of the visit is to expose the Nepali hospitals and its medical team to new life-saving technologies in the field of pediatric, obstetrics and gynecology, share their expertise, explain about the same so that they would be able to use the technology (equipment) and save lives of women and newborn babies upon donation (these life-saving equipment will be given to the hospitals). There will be a discussion about the possibilities of future collaboration as well, the Embassy of Israel here stated.
Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) is the largest acute care facility in Israel, treating about 400,000 patients and hosting 1.8 million patient visits per year. A 1500-bed world-class governmental academic medical center, it serves a population of one million people. The delegations of the hospital has travelled to other developing countries in earlier years with the mission to train local clinicians, implement clinical practices and advance medical skills in countries where the rates of pregnancy complications and maternal and infant mortality rates are among the highest in the world.
