Indian Ambassador calls on NC President Koirala; India appoints Rae as new Ambassador to Nepal

KATHMANDU: Few hours before President of Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala has left for United States for his treatment of cancer, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad called on him in the Capital on Thursday.

During the meeting, the duo held discussion on the latest political situation of the country and election to the Constituent Assembly slated for November 19.

On the occasion, Indian Ambassador Jayant enquired about the ongoing initiatives by political parties for election and outlet to the existing political stalemate.

Source quoted Koirala as telling that discussions are being held to ensure the participation of the dissenting parties in the election and that election is the only way out to end the political crisis, which is why it is indispensable to make it successful.

The Indian Ambassador also wished for better health of Koirala, who is due to leave for the US today for his health check up.
