Nepal had earlier booked their place in the finals of the second edition of SAFF U-16 Championship s by defeating Bangladesh 5-1 in a game played at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Saturday.
This was the first encounter between Nepal and India in the final of the tournament as Pakistan had bagged the title in the first edition of the tournament held in 2011. Nepal had lost to India in the semi-final in the previous tournament.
Nepal had defeated Bangladesh 5-1 while India beat Afghanistan 4-3 on penalty shootout to advance to the final of the tournament.
