Inability to forge consensus is crime against people: Koirala

KATHMANDU:
Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said that it would be a crime against people if national consensus is not forged among the political parties.
Expressing the confidence on national consensus on Government Issue within the deadline set by the President for the second time, he said: “Parties will forge consensus within Thursday. There was no question that the next government- the election government-would be led by the Nepali Congress.” Koirala was speaking at an interaction program organized by the Reporters Club today in Kathmandu.
He claimed that only Congress-led government would hold free and fair election citing the example of past Constituent Assembly election held under Congress led government. He also dismissed the rumor that there is dispute of PM candidate inside the Congress.
According to him, election was the first priority, and political cooperation and consensus were must to hold election.
He reminded that Indian leader Karan Singh said India would not interfere with Nepali politics. However, Singh suggested elections for Nepal, he added.
