KATHMANDU:- Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said he would raise voice in the parliament for the rights of sportsmen. “Players are pride of the country. They will be respected,” President Deuba said at a programme organized by the sports department of the party.
The programme was organized to honour the players who won gold medals in the last 13th South Asian Games.
He further assured that the party would work more for the rights of players once the NC makes the government. He reminded that the government led by the NC in the past had worked for the welfare of the players. The President praised the performance the players had in the SAG.
Even the government would be pressed for the welfare of the players, Deuba added. On a different note, he urged all players to remain alert of health safety in the wake of COVID-19.
