
MYAGDI: With the great of festival of Nepali people, Dashain, coming near, the hustle and bustle of traders began in Mustang to buy Himalayan goats (bhedachyangra) and take to the Capital City, Kathmandu.
During the Dashain and Tihar festivals, the Himalayan goats from Mustang are of high demand. So, for this year, efforts were on to bring 20,000 goats from Tibet. The traders had reached in Tibet, said the District Livestock Office, Mustang.
Although there are 62,000 sheep and Himalayan goats combined in the district, all are not for meat purpose. So, the only product from Mustang is insufficient, the Office said, adding that each Himalayan goat costs at least Rs 15,000 this time.
