Human trafficking to Thailand under the temptation to send to Belgium


KATHMANDU:- A man has been arrested from Kathmandu for trafficking a woman to Bangkok under the temptation to send her to work in Belgium. Police have arrested Rajendra Khadka, 44, of Baglung Galkot Municipality-4 from Sinamangal. According to the Bureau of Human Trafficking Investigation, Khadka was tempted to employ the victim in a hotel in Belgium with a monthly salary of Rs 100,000 to Rs 150,000.

However, he was taken to Thailand and sold on various dates for Rs 854,000 two years ago, the bureau said in a statement. It is said that the gang had taken another Indian accused Parvinder Singh from Khadka’s room in Thailand via Bhairahawa to Gorakhpur, Kolkata, India and threatened him and took him to Malaysia. She came to Nepal a year ago with the help of her relatives.

It has been found that they even took the woman to Cambodia. After that, based on his complaint, the police deployed from the bureau arrested the absconding Khadka while he was in hiding. According to the Bureau, he is being investigated by the District Court, Kathmandu under the Human Trafficking and Smuggling (Control) Act, 2064 BS.
