By N24 STAFF WRITER, KATHMANDU:- Raj Badhyakar, a local resident of Lalitpur came from Kuwait after 5 years to Kathmandu said, arriving in Nepal we have been kept to holding center Radha Soami Satsang Beas, Gongabu instead of quarantine.
It was well managed, food, toilet everything was good but later after staying 7 days, they said us to have PCR by ourselves and go to the related districts as before they said that they will do our PCR test. We all decided and talk to in-charge of the center to provide us the doctor for the PCR test as we also said that we will have the test by paying the charges of the test for that also they didn’t listen to us. Instead, they said it is an organization. Until the test result, we planned to stay for 14 days but it was different. So, some of us decided and brought the letter from the district and I have my PCR from the hospital by paying the amount and the result is negative.
When I was in Kuwait, I thought that the facility in the quarantine is not well managed but after coming back to the country I felt the difference. I only have a complaint about the management of the quarantine for the people who come to the country from foreign like us because we have been kept to quarantine instead of that we have been kept to holding center and there was also not fix of conducting the test. As the government has been saying that people who come to the country from foreign will be kept quarantined for at least 14 days and will have a PCR test but they didn’t so for that I’m not happy with this.
Every people coming from foreign can’t afford the amount for PCR test so if they are sent to their provision without test then off-course it can increase the number of COVID-19 cases and it is also a risk to meet with the family members. So the government should think about this. He added, “Why government had taken us directly to holding center instead of quarantine?”
Similarly, Jiban Tamang, from Sindhupalchok has also come to Nepal from Kuwait after 15 months. He added, holding center and quarantine was good as we had known the information about the quarantine of Nepal on the internet and also heard about it from friends too. As I have stayed 8 days at holding center, Kathmandu after that I went to Sindhupalchok quarantine arriving from Kuwait for 14 days.
The holding center and quarantine were good they worked hard for us before coming to Nepal I was confused about the quarantine facilities but it was different totally different. What I think the holding center should improve is that they should provide masks, gloves, and sanitizers, said, Tamang. And I’m so happy to come back to my country so I want to thank our government to bring us from the foreign. Though I’m happy to be back here, there is something that has upset me that my neighbors are not treating me well, this kind of practice has been occurring in society.
Pemba Sherpa a local from Boudha, Kathmandu has also come to Nepal from Dubai, he was there for 3 years after 3 years he has come here and had stayed holding center for 13 days. After PCR test negative he is now in-home quarantine. According to the Sherpa, “I felt very happy to get a good facility in the holding center as the staffs were very kind to us so everything fine.” It was totally different as expected and food was also tasty and hygienic. So what I want to say is that I’m really happy with holding the center facility.
