KATHMANDU:The Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended Rs. 1 million as compensation to the family of all six youths, including Naba Raj B.K. of Jajarkot district, who were killed brutally in West Rukum recently.
Proposal in this regard was taken to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers for a cabinet nod, according to under secretary and joint spokesperson at the Ministry of Home Affairs Uma Kanta Adhikari. He said “If the Cabinet decides so, families of the six deceased, including B.K., will receive the relief amount.”
The Home Ministry has also recommended for free treatment of those injured in the attacks of the Soti villagers.
The Home Ministry has said that four villages in Soti had teamed up upon the planning of ward chairman Dambar Bahadur Malla of Chaurjahari Gaunpalika-8 of West Rukum district to kill B.K. and his friends after they came to take a girl of the village away, who was said to be B.K.’s girlfriend.
Ministry of Finance was also requested to manage the fund for the compensation, according to Home Ministry.
