Historic change possible due to Pushpa Lal: Nepal


KATHMANDU: The 42nd Memorial Day of founding General-Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Lal Shrestha, has been observed on Wednesday by organizing different programs.

At a program organized by Pushpa Lal Memorial Foundation at Pushpa Lal Memorial park at Champadevi of Kirtipur, Foundation Chair and senior leader of NCP, Madhav Kumar Nepal, NCP’s Vice-chairperson, Bamdev Gautam, and Minister for Health and population, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, garlanded the statue of Pushpa Lal.

On the occasion, leader Nepal said that not only the dream of Pushpa Lal has been fulfilled by building a single Nepal Communist Party after the merger between two big communist parties, it has also made a contribution to forward the people’s movement one-step ahead. “We have made a historic change after following the footsteps of Pushpa Lal.” Also former Prime Minister, Nepal pointed out the need of making Nepal Communist Party stronger, united, organized, guided by rules and regulations, determined in the path of change, and ideologically clear.

The Nepal Communist Party was established on Baishakh 10, 2006 BS for the first time in Nepal under the leadership of Pushpa Lal. He died in course of treatment at Govinda Ballav Pant Hospital, New Delhi, on July 22, 1978.
