Health Research Council called upon to broaden research sphere

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Health Research Council has been called upon to broaden its research sphere.

The Council has been supporting the government in policy and programme formulation, health research regulation and enhancement of health research capabilities since the past two decades.
Health Ministry’s Secretary, Kiran Regmi, today launched the web portal of the Council and stressed on need for broadening the boundary of qualitative research. Regmi was of the view that the Council’s researches were growing numerically but could not meet the same footing in terms of quality.
Secretary Regmi further underlined the need for giving new dynamism to researches held in laboratories and the concerned sector while at the same time exchanging the experiences of Nepali researches and write ups with the international community.
Council’s Executive Chairperson, Dr Anjani Kumar Jha, insisted on preparing an environment to allow the council to work in an independent manner in the changing scenario.
The Council is also in course of preparing a new format to match the country’s federal state structure. RSS
