Govt to provide 1 lakh each to flood‚ landslide victims


KATHMANDU: Government has decided to provide Rs 100,000 each as immediate relief to the victims who lost their family members in flood and landslides triggerred by incessant rainfall across the country.

A high-level committee formed under Prime Minister Sushil Koirala to provide relief and rehabilitate the victims of flood and landslides took a decision to this effect through a meeting convened on Wednesday afternoon.

Likewise, it has been learnt that the committee also directed the government ministers not to ride on helicopter while visiting the areas affected by flood and landslide. The committee said helicopters should be brought into operation only while distributing relief materials and medicines to the victims.
