Govt. holding election at the tune of foreigners claims Maoist secretary

KATHMANDU: As the alliance of 33-political parties has been protesting against the decision of holding the elections of the constituent assembly by the Chief Justice led government, secretary of CPN-Maoist Dev Gurung has said that his party would not take part in the Constituent Assembly elections to be conducted at the behest of foreign forces with the intention to ruin the future of the nation.

Gurung accused the four major political parties of working as agents of foreign forces while speaking to media persons here in Ilam district on Wednesday.

“The population of foreigners is going to be more than the actual Nepalis due to negligence in citizenship certificate distribution. The foreign brokers are taking benefit of this by weakening the country,” Gurung said.

Gurung claimed that the 25-point agreement signed by the four parties will not bail the country out of current crisis. He further said that the leaders of the four parties and the president have been sold to the foreign forces.

Similarly in another context, CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel has said that the prominent leaders of his party have lost their ‘ moral authority ‘.

Pokharel claimed that his party leaders lost their moral authority because they could not protest against the premiership of chief justice and resist the appointment of Lokman Singh Karki as the head of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

Addressing an interaction in the Capital on Wednesday, Pokhrel said, “Now the other parties have the opportunity to question the decisions of UML.” He even said that the leadership has lost the authority to lead. Pokharel had always been against the party’s decision to support the appointments of both Khil Raj Regmi and Lokman Singh Karki.

Pokharel also said that UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has divided the people in the name of ethnicity and federalism.
