MAKWANPUR: Former Finance Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) central member Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has urged the federal government to place high emphasis on bringing in foreign investments.
In his address to a program organised by the Nepal Trade Union Congress on the occasion of the 130th International Labourer Day here today, Dr Mahat said the state government should take further actions to ensure social security of workers.
“The state government should put into actions the provisions of Social Security Act so as to ensure rights of the labourers”, leader Dr Mahat further said.
NC State-3 opposition party leader Indra Bahadur Baniya accused the government of being apathetic to the exploitation meted out to workers by multinational companies.
Meanwhile, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), State-3 organised a morning rally demanding guarantee of the freedom of expression and the press.
