
KATHMANDU:- Senior Advocate Gopal Krishna Ghimire has been nominated the coordinator of the Nepali Congress Central Election Committee.
Ghimire was nominated to the post today after Senior Advocate Mahadev Prasad Yadav, who was the Committee coordinator before this, resigned from the post citing health reason, Nepali Congress Party Office, Acting Chief Secretary Dr Pradip Parajuli said.
Party president Sher Bahadur Deuba approved, as per the party’s statute, the resignation tendered by coordinator Yadav today itself. Senior Advocate Ghimire was the Committee’s senior member before this.
The major ruling party, Nepali Congress, started organizing its ward-level convention since September 3 as part of its 14th General Convention. Since then the party has already conducted its convention at the rural municipality, municipality, sub-municipality and metropolis level, at the province election constituency level, at the House of Representatives election constituency level and at the district level in most of the districts.
The Nepali Congress’ General Convention is taking place from December 10 to 26 in Kathmandu.
