Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha Bijay Kumar Gachhadar has hinted that he would support Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala in a race for the Prime Minister in an upcoming national consensus government as demanded by the President Dr Ram Baran Yadav through last Friday’s call.
After emerging out from the meeting with Koirala at his own residence Maharajgunj on Tuesday, Gachhadar said he don’t have any objection if Congress President Koirala is made Prime Minister. “Koirala is a generous and a saint leader. If there would be an agreement upon Koirala for the Prime Minister post, I would be happy,” he told.
Likewise, Gachchhadar urged Koirala to pay attention for forging political consensus during the meeting, Koirala’s press aide Bipul Pokhrel informed media persons adding that the latter requested the former to support the Congress bid for the leadership in the yet-to-be formed national consensus government.
On Monday, Koirala had met various leaders of Madhei leaders including Mahantha Thakur, Anil Jha and Rajendra Mahato in a bid to solicit their support for the government formation under the leadership of Congress.
