Full court meeting held in the Supreme Court today

Dissatisfied with Rana, Supreme Court justices and legal practitioners came out against him. Although the judges returned to the regular session after the round of voting began, they have stated that they will not accept Jabara's leadership.

N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU:- A full court meeting is being held in the Supreme Court today. A full court meeting is being held to decide when to appoint Pace from the round-robin process. The meeting is likely to decide on the issue from next Wednesday.

Earlier, Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra had been setting the pace as per his discretion. However, last Thursday’s full-court meeting had cut the discretionary power of Chief Justice Rana and arranged for the sitting to be held through a round of voting.

Chief Justice Rana has been accused of failing to uphold the dignity of the court, forcing certain cases to be decided only by sitting in the court of a certain judge, and for being involved in the distribution of cabinet members.

Dissatisfied with Rana, Supreme Court justices and legal practitioners came out against him. Although the judges returned to the regular session after the round of voting began, they have stated that they will not accept Jabara’s leadership.

However, the Nepal Bar Association, which has been leading the movement, has continued its protest program by making Jabra’s resignation the bottom line. The Nepal Bar, which has been boycotting the sittings, has staged protests and rallies in all 18 high courts on Wednesday in the presence of central representatives.
