Fringe parties urge PM to show flexibility on rank harmonization


KATHMANDU: Fringe parties representing in the Constituent Assembly (CA) on Saturday called on the Prime Minister and urged him to demonstrated utter flexibility on rank harmonization of PLA combatants so as to conclude the ongoing peace process at the earliest.

During the meeting held at the PM’s office, the fringe parties urged the PM to show flexibility to resolve the most complicated issue in the peace process during the discussion informed Badri Prasad Neupane, lawmaker of Rashtriya Ekta Party.

“We suggested the PM to escalate the conclusion of the peace process expressing our belief that it would help in concluding the constitution writing process,” said Neupane after the meeting.

Also on the occasion, the fringe party representatives had stressed on the need to hold deliberations on the report submitted by the State Restructuring Committee claiming that it was highly controversial.

Responding to the concerns of the parties, the PM is reported to have briefed them about the latest progress made in concluding the peace and constitution writing process informed Neupane.

” The Maoist has maintained its demand for the post of Brigadier General while integrating six thousand and five hundred PLAs. However we are hopeful to resolve the issue in consensus with other parties,” Neupane quoted the PM as saying.
