KATHMANDU: Four leaders including Nabina Lama have been vying for the top post of the student wing of CPN-UML, which has been involved in groupism and has not been been able to conduct the general convention on time.
One of the contenders of the chairperson Lama is close to CPN-UML leader Bamdev Gautam, while another contender Kishor Bikram Malla is close with senior leader of the party KP Sharma Oli.
The 21st convention of the organization is taking place in Kathmandu from 19th to 21st September 2013. The convention has been postponed for a long time following intra-organization rift. Thomas Bastola, Rachana Khadka, Dipak Gautam and Saroj Yadav have announced their candidacy for the post of General secretary.
The convention participated by nearly 1,500 representatives will elect 11-member executive committee and 135-member central committee.
