Four members of a family die in a fire in Lalitpur


LALITPUR:- Four members of a family have died in a fire at Mangal Bazaar in Patan district.

Chief of the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, AIG Hari Bahadur Pal confirmed to online news that four members of the same family were killed in the fire on Friday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Laxmikrishna Tamrakar, his daughter Anjana Tamrakar, daughter-in-law Ranjana Tamrakar and grandson Nirjal Tamrakar. Police and locals have rescued five people. The two are undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital, said AIG Pal.

According to Lalitpur Police Chief SSP Kiran Bajracharya, the fire may have started on the third floor of the house. She said that the gas cylinder in the kitchen may have exploded due to the fire.

“Some of the dead may have been suffocated,” she told Online News. “A detailed investigation is underway.”
