During the meeting, the FNCCI delegation led by its President Suraj Baidya urged the Maoist Chairman to be serious towards forging the political consensus for bringing a complete budget in time.
In response, Maoist Chairman Dahal stressed the need of keeping the economic sector untouched from political reasons and assured of the complete budget with political consensus.
Finance Minister Barshaman Pun was also present on the occasion. The Supreme Court’s verdict on the budget issues is in favour of the government, he said.
Talking to media following the meeting, FNCCI President Suraj Baidya said that during the meeting with the Maoist head, the delegation has proposed for at least minimum agreement on the economic agenda.
Earlier, the delegation had met with Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, calling for political consensus and guarantee of a complete budget.
