N24 Staff Writer, KATHMANDU: The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has decided to postpone the upcoming 54th Annual General Assembly once again. Earlier FNCCI had scheduled the assembly to be on second week of August, i.e., on August 10 and 11.
Further, a press release issued by an umbrella organisation of business on July 23 stated that, the Annual General Assembly will be held within 15 days after getting permission from the Government to hold mass gathering. The reason for postponement of the assembly and election is noted to be Government’s decision to forbid any type of mass gatherings.
Senior Vice President of FNCCI Shekhar Golchha in his tweet informed that, due to the risk of corona virus transmission along with floods and landslides in various region of Nepal, FNCCI officials have decided to hold 54th Annual General Assembly and Election. Because during this period, safety of people is very important and must be prioritized.
The 54th Annual General Assembly of FNCCI was initially scheduled between April 10 and 11, which later was postponed to May 20 and 21, and later adjourned to be on August 10 and 11, due to nationwide lock down.
