Fire breaks out at Birgunj Customs warehouse


BIRGUNJ: A massive fire has engulfed godown of Birgunj Customs office, destroying imported goods worth millions of rupees.

According to SP Dibesh Lohani, Parsa district police chief,  the fire caused due to the short circuit started in the warehouse at around 2 am on Tuesday night.

Customs authorities have informed that there were foreign-imported goods like edible oils, electronic goods including TVs and computers, garments as well as motor bikes among others.

Six fire engines as well as rescue team of Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police force have been deployed to douse the fire but it is still not fully contained.
