SAPTARI: Last rites of slain former CA member Sadrul Miya Haque was performed as per Islamic tradition on Friday after Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire assured to book the culprit at the earliest and fulfill demands of the family of deceased.
Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire, who reached Rajbiraj at 8 a.m. Friday morning in a chopper assured the families of late Haque to initiate fair probe into the manner.
The irate locals who resorted to the street protests after Haque’s murder called off their struggle program after four days. The vehicular movement resumed on the East West highway. The locals had been staging sit-in by taking Haque’s body to the street in front his house at Kalyanpur-2. They had warned that the body won’t be laid to rest unless the home minister visits the area and assure them that the guilty would be arrested at the earliest.
According to former Minister Mrigendra Kumar Yadav, they decided to withdraw their protest program following the commitment made by the Minister Ghimire to fulfill the demands raised by the committee and citing the inconvenience faced by the general people due to the transportation blockade.
Haque, who was elected CA member from Constituency No 5 in Saptari as an independent candidate, was found murdered in a room at his petrol pump in Kalyanpur-2 on Tuesday.
