The meeting of the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA), the coalition of ruling parties and parties supporting current government, is scheduled to be held at the residence of its coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ in Lazimpat. Spokesperson of the FDRA, Prem Bahadur Singh, informed that the meeting will discuss upon the issue of the national consensus government and other agendas put forth by the Alliance.
The FDRA has been insisting that the current government should be given the shape of national consensus government. However, there is dispute between the main ruling party UCPN (Maoist) and other parties regarding the formation of national consensus government. Maoist Chairperson has proposed to transfer the leadership of the government to the Nepali Congress but other parties including United Democratic Madhesi Front have flatly rejected the proposal of change of the guard.
Meanwhile, Prachanda and Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has also held a meeting today morning to discuss upon the contentious issues.
