RUKUM: An expectant mother of Chargaun at Puthauttar Ganga Rural Muncipality-8 in Rukum East district, who was suffering complications in her delivery, has been rescued to a well-equipped health facility in Nepalgunj.
Milana Malla, 20, was rescued in a Nepal Army helicopter to Bheri Zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj, Banke today. According to Assistant Chief District Officer Shrawan Kumar Shah, Malla was rushed to the nearest health post after she went into labour pain three days ago. Unable to deliver despite three days of labour, she was taken to bigger health facility.
Many pregnant women developing health complications in remote parts of the country would face life-threatening situations due to unavailability of timely medical intervention.
