Ex-Malaysian PM Mahathir & Governor Li in Kathmandu
KATHMANDU: Ex-Malaysian PM Dr Mahathir Mohammad has arrived in Kathmandu on a four-day visit to Nepal on Saturday. leading an eleven-member Malaysian delegation to take part in an Investment Conference to begin from tomorrow.
Dr Mahathir will be a key speaker in the conference to be hosted by the Nepalis Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) with the objective of providing businessmen from around the world to look for an opportunity to find suitable projects for investment in Nepal.
Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Arjun Kanta Mainali received the ex-premier upon his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport today.
Dr Mahathir is scheduled to meet Nepal’s President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.
Dr Mahathir will leave for Malaysia on March 25.
Governor of China’s in Kathamndu:
Similarly, Governor of Yunnan Province of China Li Jiheng has arrived here this afternoon for his two-day formal visit to Nepal by leading a seven-member delegation.
Li arrived Nepal to extend invitation to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala for the Second China-South Asia Exposition.
Ambassador of China to Nepal Wu Chuntai, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Prakash Kumar Subedi and Protocol Officer Bijay Bahadur Raut welcomed Governor Li at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA).
According to MoFA, Governor Li is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhim Prasad Acharya.
