Ebola help desk established at Kakadvitta


KAKADVITTA: In a bid to prevent Ebola Virus entering into Nepal, the government has brought a Quarantine Help Desk into operation in Kakadvitta, the main border check-point of the eastern Nepal.

The desk has been set up on the premises of Immigration Office, Jhapa. Kakadvitta shares border with West Bengal and it is close to Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, among other provinces of India.

A team of health workers under the leadership of Assistant Health Worker, Harishchandra Devkota, has been deployed at the Ebola Help Desk from Sunday.

Devkota said that the team would investigate about the tourists visiting Nepal from Ebola-affected countries, provide necessary health counseling and put the suspected people under surveillance.
