Dr KC to begin hunger strike again

KATHMANDU: Dr Govinda KC has again announced his hunger strike saying that his demands put for the reforms in the medical sector were not addressed by the government despite his repeated calls.
Issuing a press statement on Sunday, Dr KC announced to stage the hunger strike from July 24 stating that his demands were not met despite the ultimatum of July 15 given to the government.
His demands include passing the Medical Education Act immediately as per the recommendation by the Mathema Commission, preventing the irregularities prevalent in the medical sector, giving autonomy to the Institute of Medicine (IoM), scrapping the affiliation of medical colleges violating the government directive and court verdict.
Dr KC has also wished for public participation and support in his crusade like before. RSS
