GORKHA: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has directed the chiefs of the district based offices in Gorkha district to provide prompt and effective services to the service seekers and not to harass them.
Giving directives to the office chiefs at the Hotel Bisauni in Gorkha today, the Prime Minioster said, “The service you provide should not smell of corruption, irregularities and unnecessary delays.”
Nepal’s development is possible from the development of water resources and tourism, the Prime Minister said, in the next 10 years it will not be the Nepali youths who will be going abroad for work but the foreign youths who will be coming to Nepal for work.
Stating that the country has entered an age of development, he said nobody could backtrack from the agendas of federalism, republic, secularism and others even if they wished so. The Prime Minister reiterated that the government would pay its attention to writing a constitution taking all sides into confidence and a constitution which the world would appreciate.
Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Karki had briefed the Prime minister about the problems of the district. He mentioned that problems were encountered in road construction due to the dispute between the District Forest Office and the District Road Office, that there was demand for setting up the Armed Police Force posts at Larkey and Samagaon, that the police posts and VDC offices that were damaged during the conflict period were yet to be reconstructed and the lack of adequate police personnel and civil servants in the district.
