The agitating disqualified Maoist combatants have padlocked their party headquarters at Paris Danda in Kathmandu on Thursday to protest the party’s ‘neglecting’ attitude towards them.
The combatants deemed ‘unqualified’ during the United Nation Mission to Nepal (UNMIN)’s verification process have been protesting by forming the ‘Central Struggle Committee 2068’ to pressurize the government and their party to terminate the ‘disqualified’ term tagged upon them as well as equal economic package as par with their fellow combatant who were qualified in the verification process and felicitation letter be provided to them from the state along with other demands. Earlier, they had called for Nepal bandh on November 24 which they withdrew it later. However, they have been continuing their other protest programs. Along with padlocking the party office, they have said they will not allow the party leaders to enter party office unless their demands are met.
