Dispute surfaces between Prachanda and his deputy Dr Bhattarai

KATHMANDU:
UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chairperson Dr Baburam Bhattarai hasn’t attended the party’s office bearers’ meeting today.
Earlier today, Maoist chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has cancelled the meeting with Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai to hold the talks with CPN (UML) Chairperson Jhalanath Khanal.

Miffed with the Prachanda’s such behavior, Dr Bhattarai has intentionally skipped the meeting to expressed his discontentment with party chairperson, source claimed.
Likewise, Top Bahadur Raymajhi, another leader of the Bhattarai camp, also didn’t show up in the meeting.
Meanwhile, party’s spokesperson Agni Sapkota, Prachanda’s favorite, has said that Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai should adhere to the party decision.

“No individual is above the party so he (Baburam Bhattarai) should also follow party decision,” he said speaking at a program of Reporters Club. He added, “the party has already decided to go for consensus government so no one can go against it.”

Prachanda and his deputy Dr Bhattarai are at odds over transferring the leadership of the government to the Congress. While Prachanda is positive to hand over the government to Congress President Sushil Koirala, his deputy Dr Bhattarai has been challenging Prachanda by putting forth various conditions for the change of guard.
