Sushil KC / LONDON: The dispute in the Non Residential Nepali Association United Kingdom (NRNA-UK) ended from Monday after central leaders of the organizations and different organizations informed that all the activities of election committee are valid.
Organizing a press conference in London on Monday, the NRNA-UK informed that there is no need to postpone the election program as all the activities carried out by the election committee are valid. Representatives of NRN International Coordination Committee (ICC) also appreciated the activities conducted by the committee. Various representatives of NRN ICC including vice-chairperson retired Captain Hitman Gurung attended the press conference.
Addressing the press conference Chairperson of NRN UK Kul Acharya informed that they hold different rounds of informal talks to take the dissenting parties on board. He informed that the dissenting side has different approach to see the NRNA and urged all to support for making the fifth convention of the organization slated for September 15. Acharya also challenged dissenting group to reach to the leadership of the organization through formal process.
Speaking at the press conference Coordinator of Election Commission Dr. Hemraj Sharma claimed that all the members of the election committee are very experienced and capable and the committee has adopted all the measures to make the election participatory and transparent. He also requested all to consider the election committee as a committee rather than a personal issue.
Patron of NRNA-UK Professor Surya Subedi and Vice-chairperson of NRN-ICC Hitman Gurung informed that they held discussion time and again with the leader of dissenting group Mahendra Kandel. Former Chairperson of NRNA-UK Surya Gurung informed that efforts were made time and again to make consensus with the dissenting groups. Coordinator of NRNA Statute Committee Dr. Hemraj Sharma informed that the organization would recognize the committee that comes through legitimate process. On a query of journalist Dr. Sharma informed that all the groups have to follow the procedures of the NRNA.
Meanwhile, the NRN-UK has decided to seek clarification from vice-chairperson of NRN-UK Mahendra Kandel and member of ICC Rajan Kandel for acting against the statute of the organization. They were blamed for making an attempt to divide the NRNA.
