KATHMANDU :Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba accused the government of dragging the President into controversy.
Participating in the discussion on policies and programmes he said that president is a respected institution and it should not be dragged into controversy. Congress President Deuba accused the government of presenting the president as queen of Britain. He also said that the government failed to include policies that could promote good governance, development and progress.
Likewise Laxman lal karna the Madhesh-centric Rastriya Janata Party Nepal leader demanded to unveil report of the commission formed by government to investigate the events during madhesh and tharuhut movement. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has received six proposals that have sought amendments to the government’s annual policies and programmes.The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has filed an amendment proposal, demanding that the government replace the phrase ‘my government’ with ‘the government of Nepal’. Earlier on Friday, the party had objected to the use of words.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari presented policies and programmes of fiscal year 2076-77 at a joint meeting of the both houses of Parliament on Friday. The discussion on policies and programme has started on Sunday and will continue for a next few days.
