Thapaliya appointed Nepal’s new Chief Election Commissioner


KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari, upon the recommendation of Constitutional Council, has appointed Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya to the post of Chief Election Commissioner.
Thapaliya was appointed to CEC in accordance with Article 245 (2) of Constitution of Nepal, according to the Office of the President.
Similarly, President Bhandari also appointed Bishnu Maya Ojha as the member of National Inclusive Commission, while Prakash Kumar Dhungana of Dhanusha, Sushma Lata Mathema of Kathmandu, Kumar Regmi of Jhapa, Hari Prasad Phunyal of Morang and Manoj Kumar Sharma of Kathmandu as the Supreme Court Justices on Friday itself.
