Death toll in Dang flood reaches 13‚ 4 missing


DANG: The death toll in Dang flood has reached 13 after police recovered seven more bodies from various parts of the district this morning.

Police identified the deceased as Sher Bahadur Oli (60) his wife Khali Oli (57) and their daughter Asmita Oli (12), Lila Khatri (9) and Sumitra Dangi.

According to DSP Chakra Bahadur Joshi, Chief of the Area Police Office, Tulsipur, the bodies were recovered from the bank of Babai River. However, the identities of the two others are yet to be ascertained.

He said that four persons are still missing in the floods triggered by torrential rainfall for the past two days.

DSP Joshi said that they are searching for the missing persons.

Hundreds of families have been displaced after floodwater gushed into the human settlements in various parts of the district.
