N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU: Treatment of patients at the only government hospital at Damauli, the district headquarters of Tanahun, has been carried out by lighting candles, thanks to power outage.

Officials complained that the hospital management committee has not taken any initiative for regular power supply and end the power crisis at the hospital.

Assistant Health Worker Ramkala Panthi said that health workers too have been facing problems, along with the patients.

She said the health workers have been facing problems to carry out treatment to the serious patients.

Attraction towards private hospitals has increased as compared to the government one as services and facilities provided by the private hospitals are better, the health workers and patients say.

Patient Kalimaya Pariyar complained that they were compelled to pass the whole night by lighting candles due to lack of electricity at the hospital. The hospital has the capacity of 25 beds.
