Crown Prince of UAE scaling Mount Everest


SOLUKHUMBU: Crown Prince of United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Mohadal Thane has been ascending Mount Everest with the objective of raising money to support for the education of general public in Nepal. A trekking agency, which is supporting the Prince’s visit to the Mount Everest informed that he will reach to the highest peak of the world by Wednesday if there is favorable weather condition.

Of the 24 members of his expedition team 15 persons have already reached to the top of the Mount Everst while remaining nine persons will reach there by Wednesday. The Prince is making his visit very low profile. The Prince has reached to eight thousand meter on Monday, which is 848 meter from the peak.

The visit came to light when one of the members of the expedition team Moharak Rah Hassan informed that they would collect one million US Dolor after they return from the expedition. The announcement is similar to Reach Out to Asia (ROTA) and the organization inquired about the expedition team and revealed the identity of Prince Sheikh Mohammad. Before embarking the trip, the team stayed in the Hotel Dwarika and held interaction with different personalities.

They discussed about promoting the mission of ROTA to provide affordable education to the people. It is learnt that Prince Sheikh has been providing financial support to community schools of Nepal. The Prince Sekh is in a nine member team led by Jemez Michael Horst, an American national. The Prince, who is also the Managing Director of Golf and Shooting Club, is very keen on mountaineering. He had already climbed 6,962 meter high Akangag mountain of Andes mountain range of the United States. He had already reached upto base camp of the Mount Everest. 39 teams had already received permit for climbing the Mount Everest this year which also marks the 60th anniversary of the ascent to Mount Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenjing Norgay Sherpa.
